Ladies and gentlemen, after much work, training, and patience, I've done it. This is the big one. I've created an independent comics series I've dubbed Sunnyville Stories. The individual pages will be put up on my DeviantArt page and eventually, when I have enough pages, I plan to put together a trade paperback. But enough about that.

Hello guys!
I am getting ready to start offering commissions, but of course, I need to build up a commission portfolio to show people and get some practice in. I'd be happy to make an inked and colored penciled drawing of your character for the low price of FIVE DOLLARS, paid for with Paypal.
Yes! For the incredibly low price of FIVE DOLLARS, you will get a nice picture of your character, or any other animal you want me to draw, really. Any sort of critter is accepted, as long as your request is rated PG-13.
Here are a few of my best pieces:
Kiarell (gryphon) - Please ignore the wings, otherwise, a good piece.
Degus - Yes, I do small furry creatures as well.
Budgie - But my speciality, and one true love, is birds.
Wolf - Also a ton of fun to draw. Maybe you could get one with wings.
Lovebird - A pretty blue color mutation.
If you're interested in helping a starving college kid make a little cash, please email me at black.satin.feathers@gmail.com. Much thanks in advance.
PS: I will be cross-posting this to other furry/art communities, sorry if it turns up on your Friends page twice.
PSS: If you like my artwork, you can see more legitimate stuff at www.psittalux.com.

Okay, yeah, took my sweet time with this, didn't I? I could say that I've been busy (which is true) or that school's been making me its bitch (which it has), but the real reason? I'm just lazy and there are other things that I'd like to talk about...like the new Gorillaz album. But seeing as how I've said that I'll go over Awajishima for at least two or three weeks, I may as well talk about Awajishima.
Bit of background on Awajishima itself before I get right down to it. Awajishima is one of the smaller islands of Japan that's located in Osaka Bay between Honshu and Shikoku. If it wasn't connected to the two larger islands by bridges I'd say that it was quite literally out in the middle of nowhere in the bay. But it was actually pretty interesting.
So, I go with my host parents to the island to stay over the weekend on the day the Olympics start (yeesh, I'm bad at updating). All in all, it was pretty cool. Other than I will forever believe that Japanese people should not be allowed to drive cars along mountain roads (or anywhere else for that matter >_>), but that's kind of beside the point. There were monkeys, flowers, pron in a flower field (I kid you not, it was weird walking in there with my host mom), delicious food all around, and karaoke with people I don't even know. But they were awesome. I STILL think that enka is an awful, awful genre of music, but when it's not sung seriously (as these awesome people twice my age were singing it) it can be quite entertaining.
The day after, we went to a bunraku-esque museum on the island and that was really cool. But Yin, you handsome devil (okay, maybe not that part), how can something be bunraku-esque? Well, it's not bunraku but revolves around the same principles? Namely puppets, a shamisen, and really fucking old Japanese? But wait, that sounds exactly like bunraku! And you'd be right, mostly. I say bunraku-esque because the people who ran the museum we went to differentiated it and so I did too. That and there were women involved, which, much like kabuki, actual bunraku doesn't allow women to perform (also please note that to Opera, kabuki is a word, while bunraku is not). After the museum, as a kind of last hurrah type of deal, we went to the Naruto straits. I'm not kidding, that's what they are actually called. I hate that they're named that, but seeing as how they were named before...something which shall not be expanded upon, I can forgive them for that. This place was really cool. Due to the way the water beneath the bridge flows, it creates several small whirlpools in the strait. Watching the pools form and dissipate was quite the experience. Cold as fuck, but seeing as how it was February on the ocean, there's not a whole lot you can do about that.
And with that, the journey ended and we went home. I know it's rather brief, but it happened a while back, so I don't remember everything.
School's basically been dominating the scene since then. Midterms are this week and basically why I dropped off the face of the planet for a couple of weeks since the incredibly depressing last post. DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME. Things with the host parents are much better now and I don't just take up space like I felt I was doing for awhile there. At this particular point in time, I haven't seen them much over the weekend, but again, midterms and they understand that.
And as I hinted at in the opening paragraph, yeah...I broke down and bought the first CD I have in years for myself with Plastic Beach. I absolutely hate the storyline around it, but the CD itself is absolutely top-notch. I'd probably suggest going with the iTunes Experience Edition if you care to get it though. More songs and bonus features than the American or Japanese Experience Editions. But hey, still lots of good stuff on it whether you standard or Experience. Albarn really came through with this one and while I question the singles choices, the album as a whole fits together quite nicely. Which is also something of a problem, as the songs don't necessarily stand out on their own. I've only really listened to the album as whole as opposed to Demon Days or Gorillaz where I can just pick a song and go with it. But eh, minor concern.
I'll probably get back to writing in this semi-regularly once midterms are over this week. I also have a shit-ton to do when it comes to University next semester. Hopefully I can motivate myself enough to care about that so I can register when I'm supposed to. My mom recently asked me whether I was excited about coming back or not, and to tell you the truth...

Hey cats, I wrote up a big long article on my comic's blog on merchandising options for artists, if you're interested, go have a read!
I want to start doing commissions but i don't know how good i am. I drew this line art and cleaned it up the best i could. It took quite a few months to get this far. This is the picture in question. http://silvernightshade.deviantart.com/a rt/Finished-badge-line-art-157125772
Considering how hard i am on my self about my art i'm not very sure. Though i really need to do commissions.

Just finished an oil painting. Mostly I've been drawing lately as it doesn't require jumping through hoops to get things set up and torn down but I'm fairly happy with how this turned out. Although the photo is a bit blurry, something I didn't see when I took it last night when I was sleepy.

Hello everyone!

Wild Dog - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/329 2725

Payment would be through Paypal, and again, the portfolio is $10.00 plus $2.00 shipping to anywhere in the USA. (International shipping would be more, but I'm not sure how much more).
Let me know in the comments if you'd like one, and we'll go from there.
